The Nativity community was grateful to have Brandon Roderick, Owner and Head Baker at The Baker, with us for morning assembly on November 2. Roderick, a close relative of alumnus Ryland Roderick, spoke about his path to his current profession. Roderick gave students a great sense of his daily responsibilities as an owner and baker, but he also spoke very specifically about his experience of discernment. The baker had been pursuing the study of science at Tufts when he shifted gears and instead chased down the dream of learning to cook and bake with expert skill. “Pursue something you’re passionate about, be a sponge and absorb everything, and work hard,” he implored.
