Jay Goldrick appointed Head of School at Nativity Prep

The Board of Trustees of Nativity Preparatory School New Bedford is pleased to announce the appointment of Jay Goldrick as Head of School. His appointment becomes effective on July 1, 2019.

Mr. Goldrick has had a successful history with Nativity Prep having served as a teacher from 2010 through 2012 and as Principal from 2015 to the present. Jay also taught at Nashoba Brooks School and served there as Athletic Director. He holds a BA in Classical Civilization and Anthropology from Indiana University and was a Fellow of the Boston College Lynch Leadership Academy.  As Principal of Nativity, he led the advancement of the academic program, teacher and student recruitment, parent engagement, and reported to Head of School Emeritus John Martin. Jay’s broadened responsibilities now will include fundraising, community outreach, physical facilities, financial management, and staff support; he serves as the chief executive of the school.

In accepting this appointment, Jay Goldrick noted “I am humbled and excited to take on the role of Head of School at Nativity Prep.  I look forward to building upon the tremendous work that has been done in service to our mission over the past two decades.  We have a remarkable community of people — teachers, parents, volunteers, mentors, Trustees — who embody our mission and core values on a daily basis, who put students first and create an environment where they can thrive personally and academically.  I am committed to ensuring that the opportunity for a Nativity Prep experience is possible for the young men of New Bedford for years to come.”

Board chair James Feeney pointed out that “The Board of Trustees has full confidence in Jay’s creativity, leadership ability, and devotion to our school.  We’re delighted to have someone with Jay’s talents and experience leading the school at this important time in our development.  Our recently completed capital campaign will provide additional resources needed to support Jay’s agenda for the future.”
