Christian Garris
Head of Schoolcgarris@nativitynb.org(508) 994-3800Christian started his teaching career over a decade ago in the New Bedford Public School system working at Keith Middle School, Roosevelt Middle School, and Whaling City Junior / Senior High School. He then went back to his alma mater, Tabor Academy, to work in the admissions office. Most recently he was the Director of Multicultural Outreach at The Thacher School in Ojai, California. Christian is currently attending the Harvard Graduate School of Education in pursuit of his Master’s degree in School Leadership. Christian is excited to be back home in New Bedford to help lead the future of Nativity Prep.
Jay Goldrick
Principaljgoldrick@nativitynb.org(508) 994-3800Jay started his career in education at Nativity Prep, serving as a teacher from 2010-2012. He then worked for three years at Nashoba Brooks School in Concord, MA, where he taught Latin and served as the Dir. of Athletics & External Programs. Jay returned to Nativity in 2015 as Principal, was appointed Head of School in 2019, and returned to his role as Principal in 2024. Jay has a B.A. in Anthropology and Classical Civilization from Indiana University Bloomington and was a Fellow in the Lynch Leadership Academy at Boston College in 2017.
Maddie Inlow

In this role, she runs multiple programs including Academic Support, Athletics & Extracurricular Activities, and Secondary School Support. Maddie graduated from Bates College in 2017 with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Educational Studies and in 2020 she received her Masters in Education from Boston University.
Beth Mello

Having served in several leadership capacities across grades K-12, she has a genuine understanding of the complex work of schools to meet the needs of students through innovative and inclusive practices. In addition, she began her professional career as a VISTA (Volunteer in Service to America – currently named Americorps) volunteer, and, with family roots here, she has a deep appreciation for New Bedford. Beth will be responsible for community outreach and garnering support for Nativity Prep’s future.
Michael Morin
Assistant Principalmmorin@nativitynb.org(508) 994-3800Michael graduated from Roanoke College in 2013 with a B.A. in History and started his career in education at Nativity Prep, serving as a teacher from 2015 to 2019. He then continued his career as an educator for 5 years at St. John Neumann Academy in Blacksburg, VA where he taught Social Studies & Math for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. He is looking forward to utilizing his experience as a classroom teacher to facilitate the growth of faculty and students at Nativity Prep.
Calen Sandler

He started as a part-time front desk assistant but gradually stepped into the role of Facilities and IT Manager. He holds an Associate’s degree in Animal Healthcare Business Management from New England Institute of Technology University and is currently enrolled at Southern New Hampshire University pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology. Calen is responsible for building operations and technology needs, he is also our onsite computer repair technician.
Christine Quirk

She holds an Associate of Science degree in Travel & Tourism from Mt. Ida College and presently divides her time between the development and the business offices.
Noah Avelar-Fortes
Front Desk & Health Office Assistantnavelar-fortes@nativitynb.org(508) 994-3800Noah is a 2015 Alumni of Nativity Preparatory School and took the role of front-desk in November of 2022. Additionally, he has taken the role of health office, and health teacher for the upcoming school year. Noah began his secondary educational journey at Bristol Community College in 2020. He graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Science and general education in 2022. Currently, he is pursuing his nursing career with the ultimate goal of obtaining his BSN.
Colin Bradley
Music & Arts Teachercbradley@nativitynb.org(508) 994-3800Colin has a love for the arts: Music, culinary, and painting. He entered Berklee College of Music for guitar and emerged as an organist. Colin has spent his music career performing around the country, overseas, and locally. Alongside his music career, he has been well-trained as a chef in Boston at renowned establishments such as Top of the Hub, Bouchee, and Eastern Standard. He intends to bring his passion for sustainable food practices, and love of music to Nativity.
Brendan Bonner
English Language Arts Teacherbbonner@nativitynb.org(508) 994-3800Brendan started teaching at Nativity in 2023. After graduating from the College of the Holy Cross this past spring, Brendan joined the Americorps program at Nativity. Through his studies in English throughout college, Brendan developed a passion for reading and writing that he plans to bring to the classroom this upcoming school year. Brendan’s primary role is teaching English Language Arts to the 7th and 8th graders at Nativity but also will be responsible for public speaking electives, and various after-school opportunities.
Fox Maxwell
Science & Math Teacherfmaxwell@nativitynb.org(508) 994-3800Fox started teaching at Nativity in 2020 as a math teacher having graduated from Hamilton College with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Education. During his time at Nativity, he has been responsible for the Dungeons and Dragons club, The Crow’s Nest, Robotics, and several other extracurricular activities outside of being a teacher.
James McGonigle

He is a graduate of Holy Cross and has taught and coached athletics extensively at the high school level at Dartmouth High, Taunton High, Coyle & Cassidy High, and Bishop Connolly High. He will be teaching both Civics and Social Studies this year at Nativity.
Adam Mendes
Math Teacheramendes@nativitynb.org(508) 994-3800Adam is beginning his first year at Nativity in the fall of 2024. He graduated from Kenyon College in the spring of 2024 with a B.A. in Political Science. During his time at Kenyon, he played four years of varsity football, volunteered in elementary schools, and worked in the athletic center. In addition to Political Science, he also studied History, and Islamic Civilizations and Cultures. Adam attended high school at Tabor Academy where he played football, wrestled, and played baseball. Adam will teach 5th and 6th-grade math, as well as an elective course in which students will track and understand the events of the 2024 election cycle.
Devon Pires
Social Studies & Nativity Skills Teacherdvpires@nativitynb.org(508) 994-3800Devon began working at Nativity in the Spring of 2023, but this was not his first year at Nativity Prep. He began here as a student in 2010, graduating with the Campion class in 2014. Because Devon was a Nativity boy, he had the access to discover, apply, and become a student at St. Andrews School in Barrington, RI. Following that, he spent multiple years studying Communications and Writing at Bridgewater State University, living on campus as a Resident Assistant, as well as leading new students during the summer orientation. With his time moving forward, Devon would like to return to school, but is also focused and committed to giving back what he once received; love, guidance, and a proper education inside and outside the classroom.
Kelly Seitz
English Language Arts Teacherkseitz@nativitynb.org(508) 994-3800This will be Kelly’s first year teaching at Nativity. She is originally from New York and graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in 2024 with a B.A. in History and a minor in Education. She student-taught 7th grade social studies at Burncoat Middle School in Worcester this past spring and will be teaching 5th and 6th grade English this year. She is very excited to teach and discuss some of the books she loved reading so much growing up. She looks forward to meeting the Nativity students, facilitating electives such as environmental action and the yearbook committee, and getting to know the school and the New Bedford community this year.

The Board provides oversight of our programs and the organization’s financial health. As dedicated volunteers, they are an essential part of our leadership team and our efforts to responsibly raise funds for the school.
